The Central Courtyard holds multiple functions throughout the day, from livelihood to recreation to informal gathering and storage.
Our focus groups revealed that while young kids & boys use this space a lot, teen girls avoid it for play since it exposes them to the gaze of many men.
Prototyping multifunctional furniture and storage units using the milk crates available in plenty in the neighbourhood. Local carpenters were hired for making the storage and a library and toy drive was initiated.
